I have published a book on Rhode Island Criminal Law, and
have taught Criminal Procedure at a local area law school. I
have served as President of the Rhode Island Bar Association,
I am on the Board of Directors (and vice president) of the
Rhode Island Bar Foundation, and I am listed in "Who's Who in
America," "Who's Who in the East,"and in "Who's Who in
American Law."

Bruce G. Pollock is a sole practitioner of law. His practice is general, with
concentrations in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury, and general civil
litigation.

Representative examples of matters that he has handled during the past several years
include:

- representation of persons charged with worker's compensation fraud

- representation of persons charged with various forms of vehicular homicide

- representation of estates in both will contests and as a personal representative

From 1974 - 1975, Attorney Pollock served as a Law Clerk to the Justices of the
Superior, Family and District Courts of Rhode Island. During that time he also served
as interim Administrative Assistant to Chief Justice Thomas Roberts of the Rhode
Island Supreme Court.

In 1975 Attorney Pollock joined the staff of the Rhode Island Department of Public
Defender. From 1975 through 1980 he served as an Assistant Public Defender, trying
cases in all courts of the State of Rhode Island, and serving as the first appellate
attorney in the Department. During his tenure as an Assistant Public Defender, he
obtained not guilty verdicts in several notable jury trials, including prosecutions for
First Degree Murder; the statutory Arson of a Commercial Warehouse; Armed
Robbery, and in two separate prison stabbings. He successfully prosecuted appeals to
the Rhode Island Supreme Court in the cases of State v. Beaulieu, In re Fiske, and
State v. Carpentier
.

In 1980, Attorney Pollock began practicing law privately, first in the City of Warwick,
and since 1985 in the Town of West Warwick. Since going into private practice, he has
tried a number of notable criminal cases, and has prosecuted several successful
appeals to the Rhode Island Supreme Court, including State v. Benoit, State v. Jordan,
and in the civil matter of McGovern v. Crossley.

Bruce G. Pollock is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, and Suffolk
University Law School, where he was a member of the editorial board of the Suffolk
University Law Review. He also holds a certificate from the National College of
Criminal Defense Lawyers and Public Defenders at the University of Houston.

Attorney Pollock is currently the Vice-President of the Rhode Island Bar Foundation,
and a member of the House of Delegates of the Rhode Island Bar Association. At the
request of the Rhode Island Supreme Court he has served as an Assistant Disciplinary
Counsel, and as a member of Supreme Court committees on the Appointment of
Counsel for Indigents, and as one of the original members of the Sentencing
Benchmarks Committee. He was the President of the Rhode Island Bar Association
from 1992 - 1993, and he received the Rhode Island Bar Association's Award of
Merit in 1995. He has taught criminal procedure as an Adjunct Instructor of Law at
the Southern New England School of Law, and he published a book entitled The Rhode
Island Supreme Court and Law of Crimes
. He has also served as Chairman of the
Shawomet District, Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America, and as a member of
the West Warwick Town Democratic Committee. He was a Director of the New
England Bar Association from 1990 - 1993. He currently serves upon the Fee
Arbitration Committee of the Rhode Island Bar Association.

Attorney Pollock was born and raised in the State of Rhode Island. He graduated from
Cranston High School East, and he became an Eagle Scout from Troop 17, Cranston,
at the age of 13. Upon graduation from college he entered the Army, and was a
graduate of the Army Officer Candidate School at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. He holds the
Army Commendation Medal, and is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Attorney Pollock is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, and in
Who's Who in American Law. Attorney Pollock is admitted to practice in Rhode
Island, the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island, and the
Supreme Court of the United States of America.
